Law Enforcement Mutual Aid Agreement between the San Carlos Apache Tribe, the Gila County Sheriff, and the Gila County Attorney.
Background Information
The Gila County Board of Supervisors approved a Law Enforcement Mutual Aid Agreement with the San Carlos Apache Tribe on April 1, 2014. The Agreement was effective for a period of five years from the initial effective date of the agreement. This Agreement will replace the agreement approved on April 1, 2014.
Evaluation
The Mutual Aid Agreement will help promote mutual law enforcement activities between the San Carlos Apache Tribe and the Gila County Attorney's and Sheriff's Office. It will also define the protocols that will govern joint law enforcement activities between the entities.
Conclusion
The Mutual Aid Agreement will help promote mutual law enforcement activities between the San Carlos Apache Tribe and the Gila County Attorney's and Sheriff's Office. This agreement will replace the agreement that was approved on April 1, 2014, and will be effective for a period of five years from the initial effective date of the Agreement.
Recommendation
Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd recommends that the Gila County Board of Supervisors approve the Mutual Aid Agreement between the San Carlos Apache Tribe and Gila County for a period of five years from the initial effective date of the Agreement.
Suggested Motion
Information/Discussion/Action to approve a Law Enforcement Mutual Aid Agreement between the San Carlos Apache Tribe, Gila County Sheriff's Office, and Gila County Attorney's Office for a period of five years from the initial effective date of the Agreement. (Matthew Binney)
