Pinal Mountain Elks Lodge #2809 Special Event Liquor License Application for March 30, 2019.

Background Information

A qualified organization may submit an application to serve liquor at a special event for up to 10 days per year. The Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control (DLLC) approves all liquor-related applications; however, part of the DLLC's process requires that the local governing body review the application and submit a recommendation for approval or disapproval to the DLLC.

The Pinal Mountain Elks Lodge #2809 submitted a Special Event Liquor License Application to the Clerk of the Board on March 21, 2019, as they were hired to serve liquor at a wedding reception that was being held on March 30, 2019. The next scheduled Board meeting was not until April 2, 2019, so it was not possible to obtain Board approval before the date of the event. On March 21, 2019, Chairman Humphrey signed the application to recommend the DLLC's approval of the application.

Evaluation

The Clerk of the Board of Supervisors reviewed the Special Event Liquor License Application and determined that it was filled out correctly. The Chairman signed the application so that it could be hand-delivered to the DLLC for final approval before March 30, 2019, the day of the wedding reception.

Conclusion

The Special Event Liquor License Application needs to be presented to the Board of Supervisors for ratification of the Board's approval of the application.

Recommendation

The Clerk of the Board recommends that the Board of Supervisors ratify its approval of a Special Event Liquor License Application submitted by Pinal Mountain Elks Lodge #2809.

Suggested Motion

Ratification of the Board of Supervisors' approval of a Special Event Liquor License Application submitted by Pinal Mountain Elks Lodge #2809 to serve liquor at a wedding reception that was held on March 30, 2019.
