Information
Request/Subject
Construction of an Animal Control Building
Background Information
Gila County is lacking proper facilities to operate its rabies control program. Currently, animal control is being run out of a building that is owned by the Humane Society and the land is owned by the City of Globe. The structure is dilapidated and in disrepair.  Globe City Manager Brent Billingsly has notified the County that the land where the building is currently built will soon be needed for expansion to their municipal cemetery.
Evaluation
Gila County is in dire need of an animal control building which meets the American Veterinarian Association guidelines on accepted standards for the treatment of animals and protection of the constituents from rabies.
Conclusion
A new animal shelter building is needed for Gila County.
Recommendation
To begin the process of purchasing land for a new animal control building.
Suggested Motion
Information/Discussion to begin the process of building a new animal control building.  (Michael O'Driscoll)
