Amendment No. 1 and Amendment No. 2 to Contract No. 07012018-19 between the Gila County Community Services Department, Community Action Program (CAP), and Arizona Community Action Association d/b/a Wildfire.

Background Information

Contract No. 07012018-19 was approved by the Gila County Board of Supervisors on August 7, 2018.

Evaluation

Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 07012018-19 will increase the Utility Repair Replacement Deposit funding by $25,000 and the Arizona Public Service (APS) Crisis Bill Assistance Program funding by $13,000. Amendment No. 2 to Contract No. 07012018-19 will administer APS Crisis Bill Federal Employee Assistance Program funds in the amount of $6,300 to be used to provide APS bill assistance to eligible federal government employees residing in Gila County. APS Crisis Bill Federal Employee Assistance Program funds will expire two (2) months after the federal government shutdown ends, at which time, any unused funds will be rolled into existing APS Crisis Bill Assistance Program funds.

Conclusion

By the Board of Supervisors approving Amendment No. 1 and Amendment No. 2 to Contract No. 07012018-19, the Gila County Community Services Department, CAP, will receive funding to repair and replace utility related appliances and provide APS bill assistance.

Recommendation

The Gila County Community Services Department Director recommends that the Gila County Board of Supervisors approve the amendments in order for the Gila County Community Services Department, CAP, to receive funding to repair and replace utility related appliances and provide APS bill assistance.

Suggested Motion

Approval of Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 07012018-19 between the Arizona Community Action Association d/b/a Wildfire and the Gila County Community Services Department, Community Action Program, whereby Wildfire will administer Utility Repair and Replacement Deposit funding in the amount of $25,000 and Arizona Public Service (APS) Crisis Bill Assistance Program funding in the amount of $13,000 for the period of July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2019; and Amendment No. 2 to Contract No. 07012018-19 whereby Wildfire will administer $6,300 of APS Crisis Bill Federal Employee Assistance Program Funding, expiring two (2) months after the federal government shutdown ends.
