Request to adopt Resolution No. 13-02-02

Background Information

The Gila County Roads Department recently applied a double chip seal on the gravel surface of Ewing Trail and Cline Boulevard (aka Forest Road 423). Due to the surface change a signing and striping plan needed to be developed for the road.

Evaluation

Public Works contracted with C.L. Williams Consulting Inc. to perform an engineering warrant study and from the study develop a signing and striping plan for Cline Boulevard and Ewing Trail in accordance with the current standards of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).

Conclusion

The results of the study showed the need for new regulatory and advisory signage along with new roadway markings. The plans entitled “Signing and Striping Plan for Cline Boulevard & Ewing Trail” sealed and dated December 12, 2012, is on file with the Gila County Engineer.

Recommendation

It is the recommendation of the Deputy Director of Public Works that the Board adopt Resolution No. 13-02-02 adopting the signing and striping plan for Cline Boulevard and Ewing Trail.
