Gila County Fair and Racing Commission Reappointments

Background Information

On April 18, 2017, the Board of Supervisors formerly re-established the Gila County Fair and Racing Commission and appointed 7 Board members to bring this Commission into compliance with current Gila County rules and standards regarding Board-appointed commissions.

Evaluation

At the time the Board appointed 7 members to this Commission, the terms were staggered for the first term of office so that all members' terms did not expire on the same date. The following two members' terms will expire on December 31, 2019: Melva Enders and Andy Hetrick.

Conclusion

Jacque Sanders, Deputy County Manager/District Librarian, is requesting the reappointment of Ms. Enders and Mr. Hetrick.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors reappoint Ms. Enders and Mr. Hetrick for another term of office, which is four years.

Suggested Motion

Approval to reappoint Melva Enders and Andy Hetrick to the Gila County Fair and Racing Commission for the term of office beginning on January 1, 2020, through December 31, 2023.
