Request approval of AIA Contracts AIA-B133-2014 Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Architectural Firm to design the Payson Complex multipurpose building and site improvements.

Background Information

On June 28, 2019, eight proposals for Architect RFQ041419 were received, evaluated and interviews with the top three candidates were conducted. Architekton was selected by the evaluation panel as the best overall fit for the Payson Complex multipurpose building and site improvements project due to their experience with building projects similar to the scope and size of our proposed project.

This project aligns with Strategic Plan - Responsible Resource Management Goal #2 - Improve and maintain facilities, network/technology, infrastructure, and natural resources to ensure employee/public safety, continuity in business operations, and enjoyment of life.

Evaluation

The evaluation team prepared the scope of work, evaluated the proposals and selected Architekton as the Architect for the Payson Complex multipurpose building and site improvements project. The team worked with the Architect and Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR) to identify the priority components of the project. Gila County has secured the funding through the pledged revenue securities.

Conclusion

The team reviewed all written responses and interview responses and determined Architekton to be the top-ranked firm to participate in the planning, design, engineering, and construction of the new Payson Complex multipurpose building and site improvements project.

Recommendation

The selection team recommends awarding the Architectural contract to Architekton.
