Board of Supervisors' Annual Property Tax Sale/Auction of properties deeded to the State of Arizona by the County Treasurer in 2016.
Background Information
Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) § 42-18301 through 42-18303 outlines the procedures related to the responsibilities of the County Board of Supervisors once a property has been deeded by the County Treasurer to the State of Arizona.  Every year the Gila County Board of Supervisors conducts a sale/auction of all properties that have been deeded to the State by the Treasurer in the current calendar year.  This sale typically takes place in December.
Evaluation
According to state statutes, a list of the properties held by the state by tax deed was prepared on or before the first Monday in November.  The list includes a full description of each parcel; name of the former owner, if known; and the total lien amount which includes the total amount of taxes, interest, penalties, fees and costs, including the unpaid charges of the County Treasurer and Recorder.  The list was published on the County's website on October 27, 2016, and advertised in the official newspaper of the County for two weeks prior to the sale/auction on November 23rd and 30th.  The list was also made available to the public at the office of the Board of Supervisors on October 27, 2016.

Per County process, the Engineering Department has reviewed all of the properties and it has been determined that none of the properties can be used by a county, city, town or special taxing district for a public purpose related to flood control or transportation; therefore, the properties are being made for sale to the public.

There are fifty-four (54) properties that will be available for purchase at the auction, as follows: 101-07-020, 101-07-127, 101-07-239, 101-10-014B, 101-10-014E, 201-06-005P, 205-24-006E, 206-06-033, 206-06-056, 206-06-061, 206-09-031A, 206-10-001, 206-10-068J, 206-17-024, 206-19-118, 206-19-122, 206-19-194G, 206-21-027, 206-21-045B, 206-21-199, 206-22-004, 206-22-060, 206-22-079, 206-24-066, 207-07-501, 207-15-124, 207-15-126, 207-15-128, 207-15-130, 207-15-138, 207-15-223, 207-17-011, 207-17-029A, 207-17-029B, 207-17-060, 208-02-055, 208-03-382, 208-05-066A, 208-07-027, 208-07-028, 208-07-029, 208-07-031, 208-07-033, 208-07-035, 208-07-039, 208-09-035U, 301-18-085, 302-36-465, 304-33-031, 304-33-032, 304-33-040, 304-33-057 and 304-33-444.
Conclusion
All of the applicable statutory requirements have been met with regard to these newly deeded parcels of land; therefore, it is appropriate for the Board to conduct the sale/auction.
Recommendation
The Clerk of the Board recommends that a sale/auction of all newly deeded State-owned properties be held during a regular meeting of the Board on Tuesday, December 6, 2016.
