Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture Project

Background Information

Taliesin West, the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture has a philosophy of "learn by doing" and develops projects for students to work directly in the field as well as at the drafting table. They have proposed such a project for the Globe/Miami area in Gila County.

Evaluation

The Globe/Miami project will beautify our highway entry areas, downtown neighborhoods, re-purpose empty and vacant spaces, and generally revitalize the area.

Conclusion

This project has the potential to help spur economic development and attract future investment in our communities.

Recommendation

Staff recommends that the Board of Supervisors fully endorse the effort for the project and while the County is unable to contribute financially, the County is available to assist as needed on various specific projects.

Information/Discussion/Action regarding endorsement of the Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture revitalization project for the Globe/Miami area of Gila County. (Mike Pastor & John Marcanti)
