Acknowledgment of the Certified Copy of the Official Canvass of the Tri-City Regional Sanitary District's November 3, 2015 Election Results

Background Information

A.R.S. 16-642 (A) states, "The governing body holding an election shall meet and canvass the election not less than six days nor more than twenty days following the election."

A.R.S. 16-642 (B) states, "The governing body of a special district as defined in Title 48 shall present to the board of supervisors a certified copy of the official canvass of the election at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the board of supervisors. For purposes of contesting a special district election as described in section 16-673, the canvass is not complete until the presentation to the board of supervisors is made."

Evaluation

The Tri-City Regional Sanitary District governing board met on November 16, 2015, and canvassed the results of its election that was held on November 3, 2015. In accordance with A.R.S. 16-642 (B), the District has provided a certified copy of the results to the Gila County Board of Supervisors.

Conclusion

On November 16, 2015, the Tri-City Regional Sanitary District governing board canvassed the results of its November 3, 2015, election and declared the results official. They have also provided a certified copy of the results to the Gila County Board of Supervisors as required by A.R.S. 16-642 (B).

Recommendation

The Gila County Elections Department recommends that the Gila County Board of Supervisors acknowledge the certified copy of and the Official Canvass of the November 3, 2015 Consolidated Election for the Tri-City Regional Sanitary District.

Suggested Motion

Acknowledgment of the certified copy of the Official Canvass of the Tri-City Regional Sanitary District's election that was held on November 3, 2015.
