Approval of Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) No. 092419-Town of Miami Fuel Purchases
Background Information
The Town of Miami operates the Cobre Valley Community Transit System which serves Globe, Miami and the unincorporated area of Gila County between Globe and Miami. The Town's current arrangement for the purchase of fuel does not meet federal procurement guidelines. The Town is seeking to purchase fuel through Gila County which meets the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and federal guidelines due to the County's procurement bidding process. The Town's lack of storage tanks precludes its ability to meet the established guidelines.
Evaluation
Allowing the Town to purchase fuel from the County should not impact the County's ability to provide fuel to the County's fleet of vehicles.
Conclusion
Providing this service to the Town will allow the Town to become compliant with ADOT policies which will let the Town continue to provide transit services to the community.
Recommendation
The Public Works Department Director recommends approval of IGA No. 092419 to allow the Town of Miami to purchase fuel from Gila County.
Suggested Motion
Information/Discussion/Action to approve Intergovernmental Agreement No. 092419 between Gila County and the Town of Miami which authorizes the Town of Miami to purchase fuel from Gila County. (Steve Sanders)
