Intergovernmental Agreement No. 071816 with the Town of Hayden.

Background Information

On occasion, the Town of Hayden has a need to use various types of equipment and/or services that the County owns or is able to provide.

On January 7, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) No. 101113-1 with the Town of Hayden for the use of various types of equipment and/or services. IGA No. 101113-1 expired on June 30, 2014.

On October 21, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) No. 061014-1 with the Town of Hayden for the use of various types of equipment and/or services. IGA No. 061014-1 expired on June 30, 2015.

Evaluation

In the past, the Town of Hayden has requested to use various pieces of County-owned equipment. In an effort to provide equipment in a timely manner to the Town of Hayden, Gila County enters into an annual IGA with the Town that is in effect from July 1 to June 30.

IGA No. 061014-1 expired on June 30, 2015. IGA No. 061715 will commence on July 1, 2015, and expire on June 30, 2016.

IGA No. 061715 expired on June 30, 2016. IGA No. 071816 will commence on July 1, 2016, and expire on June 30, 2017.

Conclusion

By having an active IGA in place, it will allow for the County to provide, when available and upon request by the Town of Hayden, various types of equipment and/or services to the Town of Hayden for various functions as they arise between July 1, 2016, and June 30, 2017.

Recommendation

Staff recommends that the Board approve Intergovernmental Agreement No. 071816 between Gila County and the Town of Hayden for use of various types of equipment and/or services, on occasion and, when available and upon request, for safety needs and/or efforts by the Town of Hayden to increase revenue within the Town of Hayden by the Town of Hayden sponsoring various activities and events.

Suggested Motion

Approval of Intergovernmental Agreement No. 071816 between Gila County and the Town of Hayden whereby, upon request from the Town of Hayden, the County will provide various types of equipment and/or services on occasion and when available for safety needs and/or various activities and events by the Town of Hayden beginning July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2017.
