Gila County Building Safety Advisory and Appeals Governing Board Reappointments.

Background Information

Bruce Binkley and Bob O’Conner are current members of the Building Safety Advisory & Appeals Board od Directors. Their terms of office are due to expire on December 31, 2014. Mr. Binkley and Mr. O'Connor have agreed to serve on this governing board for another 4-year term of office.

Evaluation

Arizona Revised Statute §11-862 and the Gila County Building Code Ordinance require that the Building Safety Advisory and Appeals Board consist of members who are Gila County residents with experience in certain categories. Two of these categories include being an architect duly licensed in the state of Arizona and the other is described is a person engaged in the electrical, mechanical or plumbing trade. Mr. Binkley resides in Globe and he is a licensed architect; and Mr. O’Conner resides in Payson and he is a licensed HAVC contractor.

Conclusion

Mr. Binkley & Mr. O’Conner meet all of the requirements to remain members of the Gila County Safety Advisory & Appeals Board.

Recommendation

The Community Development Division Director recommends that the Board of Supervisors reappoint Mr. Binkley & Mr. O’Conner to the Building Safety Advisory & Appeals Board for an additional 4-year term.

Suggested Motion

Approval to reappoint Bruce Binkley & Bob O’Conner to the Gila County Building Safety Advisory and Appeals Board of Directors for a four-year term, from January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2018.
