Amendment No. 1 to Independent Contractor Agreement 2019-20 Utility Assistance Programs (Contract No. 07012019-20) with the Arizona Community Action Association d/b/a Wildfire.

Background Information

Contract No. 07012018-19 was approved by the Gila County Board of Supervisors on August 7, 2018.

Contract No. 07012019-20 was approved by the Gila County Board of Supervisors on July 23, 2019.

Evaluation

Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 07012019-20 will amend Section 1 to remove the expenditure limit of Arizona Public Service (APS) Crisis Bill Assistance for FY19-20.

Conclusion

By the Board of Supervisors approving this contract, the expenditure limit of APS Crisis Bill Assistance for FY19-20 will be will be removed. Gila County Community Services Department, Community Action Program (CAP), can spend the Direct Service amount of $28,635 and the Program Delivery amount of $5,727 for a total of $34,362; however, it is deemed appropriate in providing eligible citizens residing in Gila County with utility bill assistance.

Recommendation

The Gila County Community Services Department Director recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve this amendment in order for the Gila County Community Services Department, CAP, to provide utility assistance.

Suggested Motion

Approval of Amendment No. 1 to an Independent Contractor Agreement (Contract No. 07012019-20) between the Arizona Community Action Association d/b/a Wildfire and the Gila County Community Services Department, Community Action Program, whereby the expenditure limit of Arizona Public Service (APS) Crisis Bill Assistance is removed and $34,362 of APS Crisis Bill Funds will be used to provide utility bill assistance to eligible citizens residing in Gila County for the period of July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020.
