Request/Subject

Approve Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) No. 060119 Amendment No.1 with the Town of Star Valley to provide common administration for the Town of Star Valley Municipal and Payson Regional Justice Courts and the repayment of the outstanding balance owed to Gila County by the Town of Star Valley in the amount of $38,209.90. Amendment No. 1 corrects the past due amount that was incorrectly calculated on the original IGA.

Background Information

The Board approved the new IGA with the Town of Star Valley on July 23, 2019 at which time the past due amount was calculated using the old method that was used when photo radar was still in place. Amendment No. 1 corrects the past due amount which should have been $38,209.90 and based on actual expenses mutually agreed upon by both parties. The Amended IGA was reviewed and approved by Judge Timothy Wright and approved by the Town of Star Valley.

Evaluation

Both the County and the Town reviewed and agreed on the past due amount correction.

Conclusion

The past due amount is corrected on Amendment No.1 to reflect $38,209.90.

Recommendation

Staff recommends approval of Amendment No. 1 to IGA No. 060119 as presented for consolidated administration and operation of limited jurisdiction courts and repayment of past due amount in the amount of $38,209.90.

Information/Discussion/Action to approve Amendment No. 1 to Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) No. 060119 with the Town of Star Valley for Consolidated Administration and Operation of Limited Jurisdiction Courts which includes the correction of the payment of the past due amount of $38,209.90 owed by the Town of Star Valley; and authorize the Chairman's signature on Amendment No. 1 to the IGA.
