Governor's Office of Highway Safety FY2020 STEP Enforcement Overtime Contract No. 2020-PTS-021.
Background Information
 On March 13, 2019, the Gila County Sheriff's Office electronically submitted the FY 2020 Governor's Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) Speed Enforcement Overtime Grant Application. On April 16, 2019, the Gila County Board of Supervisors authorized the Sheriff's Office electronic submission of the grant application to GOHS in the amount of $27,312. Of that amount, $19,508 is personnel and $7,804 is ERE to enhance speed enforcement throughout Gila County.
Evaluation
The Gila County Sheriff's Office was awarded GOHS Contract No. 2020-PTS-021 in the amount of $10,000 of which $7,143 is for overtime salary and $2,857 is for ERE to enhance speed enforcement throughout Gila County.
Conclusion
The Gila County Sheriff's Office has been awarded a grant from the GOHS in the amount of $10,000 that will be used for overtime and ERE.
Recommendation
Gila County Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd recommends that the Board of Supervisors accept the GOHS FY 2020 STEP Enforcement Overtime Contract No. 2020-PTS-021 in the amount of $10,000 for overtime and ERE of which said funds must be spent by September 30, 2020.
Suggested Motion
Authorization of the Chairman's signature on Governor's Office of Highway Safety Contract No. 2020-PTS-021 to accept grant funds in the amount of $10,000 which will be used by the Sheriff's Office for overtime and employee-related expenses for speed enforcement.
