Gila County Cooperative Extension Advisory Board Appointment

Background Information

Per statutory requirement, the Board of Supervisors is responsible for appointing members to a cooperative extension advisory board, which shall consist of 7 members. Each member shall be appointed for a term of 2 years.

A letter dated October 11, 2016, was submitted to the Board of Supervisors from Clark Richens, President of the Gila County Cooperative Extension Advisory Board, and Rick Gibson, Regional Director of Gila County Cooperative Extension, requesting the appointment of Twila Cassadore to fulfill an unexpired term of office for Lori Brown. Ms. Brown's term of office actually ended on December 31, 2015, so the appointment of Ms. Cassadore will be to fill a vacancy on said Board for the term of office that began on January 1, 2016, through December 31, 2017.

It is requested that the Board of Supervisors appoint Twila Cassadore to the Gila County Cooperative Extension Advisory Board effective November 1, 2016, through December 31, 2017.

Suggested Motion

Approval to appoint Twila Cassadore to the Gila County Cooperative Extension Advisory Board for the term of office ending on December 31, 2017.
