Request/Subject
Approval of Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2016 Homeland Security Grant Program Training Funds (#160302-01) in the amount of $51,800 to be utilized to enhance the training for regional whole community of partners in accordance with National Incident Management System guidelines.
Background Information
The State of Arizona received block training funds from the United States Department of Homeland Security for the continued training of whole community emergency responders in accordance with the National Incident Management System guidelines.  The Arizona Eastern Region, which includes Gila County, was awarded a total $51,800. 

These funds will be used to enhance the regional preparedness efforts through the continuing training programs identified in the Gila County Multi-Year Training and Exercise Plan and have no County matching requirement.

 
Evaluation
The funded training and exercises will be conducted in accordance with the Gila County Multi-Year Training and Exercise Plan, the National Incident Management System and the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program. 
Conclusion
The FFY 2016 Homeland Security Grant Program/ Regional Training Funds will provide funding to support the Gila County Multi-Year Training and Exercise Plan and enhance the whole community of responders' readiness in accordance with the National Incident Management System and Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program. 
Recommendation
It is the recommendation of the Health and Emergency Management Division Director that the Board of Supervisors approve the FFY 2016 State Homeland Security Grant Program Fund in the amount of $51,800 to continue the training and exercises for the whole community of responders, enhancing overall preparedness.
Suggested Motion
Approval for the submission of a grant application and acceptance of the $51,800 award from the Arizona Department of Homeland Security (Agreement No. 160302-01) for continued training programs.
