Request to Advertise Invitation for Bids No. 121919-Replacement of One (1) Sheriff's Office Patrol Vehicle
Background Information
The advertisement for one (1) new Ford F250 pickup truck would allow the County Fleet Division the ability to receive proposals from automobile suppliers and have the option to purchase up to one new unit, during a one-year period.
Evaluation
The vehicle mentioned in the agenda request will be needed in the fleet in the coming year for the Sheriff’s Office for Patrol use.  This vehicle would replace unit (to be determined) that is costing a lot of money in repairs and fuel and is in excess of 200,000 miles accrued. Vehicle (to be determined) will be used as a “trade in” to prevent increasing the size of the fleet and will be disposed of at auction.
Conclusion
The vehicle that will be purchased with this solicitation will be used by the Sheriff’s Office Patrol to replace an older vehicle.
Recommendation
The Public Works Department Director recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve the advertisement of Invitation for Bids No. 121919 for the purchase of one (1) new Ford F250 pickup truck with installed equipment as outlined in the solicitation.
