Request/Subject
Approval to accept a grant award from the Arizona Companion Animal Spay and Neuter Committee in the amount of $7,500 to be used for a low cost spay/neuter program in Gila County.
Background Information

On August 19, 2019, the Board of Supervisors authorized the submittal of a grant application in the amount of $10,000 to the Arizona Companion Animal Spay and Neuter Committee which, if approved, it will be used to continue our low cost spay/neuter program in Gila County. 

On December 17, 2019, Gila County received the award check from the Arizona Companion Animal Spay and Neuter Committee in the amount of $7,500.

Evaluation
Gila County Animal Care & Control currently has a low cost spay/neuter program and this funding will allow the County to expand the program and continue to offer discounted spay/neuter services to more residents. 
Conclusion
This grant award will benefit the residents of Gila County by providing $7,500 in funding for spaying/neutering dogs and cats.
Recommendation
It is the recommendation of the Gila County Health & Emergency Management Department Director that the Board of Supervisors accept the grant award from the Arizona Companion Animal Spay and Neuter Committee.
Suggested Motion
Information/Discussion/Action to accept a grant award from the Arizona Companion Animal Spay and Neuter Committee in the amount of $7,500 that will be used to expand Gila County's discounted spay/neuter services in Gila County for a period of one year. (Michael O'Driscoll)
