Proposed Regional Wastewater Study for Southern Gila County

Background Information

The Board of Directors of the Tri-City Regional Sanitary District (District) is proposing to construct a wastewater treatment plant, force mains and a sewer collection system with all appurtenances thereto, and all other related items located in the streets, avenues, alleys, public easements or public rights-of-way as outlined in the District's recently adopted resolution. The City of Globe has its own wastewater treatment plant as does the Town of Miami.

Evaluation

Due to the high cost for the District to construct a wastewater treatment plant and a sewer collection system, County management believes that this would be an opportune time to conduct a wastewater study from a regional approach to determine viable options for a regional wastewater solution.

Conclusion

Ray Montoya, P.E. of Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. has been invited by County management to present information to the Board of Supervisors and the public regarding a regional wastewater study for southern Gila County.
