Adoption of Resolution No. 19-01-03 authorizing the disposal of an unnecessary public roadway being Hill Street and the Chairman's signature on the Quit Claim Deeds deeding the roadway to Monty and Clara Nichols and Freeport McMoRan Miami Inc.

Background Information

During the regular meeting of the Gila County Board of Supervisors held on December 18, 2018, the Board accepted a bid in the amount of $3130.00 from Monty and Clara Nichols for the purchase of Hill Street adjacent to their property. The Board also accepted a bid in the amount of $3130.00 from the Freeport McMoRan Miami Inc. for the purchase of Hill Street adjacent to their property.

Evaluation

The bidders have met all the requirements of the current Gila County policy on abandonment of roadways in Gila County.

Conclusion

The next and final step in the process is for the Board of Supervisors to adopt a resolution which authorizes the disposal of Hill Street between Block 24 and Block 25, all in the Miami Map No. 2 Subdivision, Official Map No. 23 Gila County Records, Gila County, Arizona, and the Chairman's signature on the Quit Claim Deeds deeding the abandoned roadway to Monty and Clara Nichols and Freeport McMoRran Miami Inc.

Recommendation

It is the recommendation of the Public Works Department Director that the Board of Supervisors adopt Resolution No. 19-01-03.

Information/Discussion/Action to adopt Resolution No. 19-01-03, which authorizes the disposal of an unnecessary public roadway being Hill Street between Block 24 and Block 25, all in the Miami Map No. 2 Subdivision, Official Map No. 23, Gila County Records, and the Chairman's signature on the Quit Claim Deeds conveying the abandoned roadway to Monty and Clara Nichols, and Freeport McMoRan Miami, Inc.
